Kevin Mundow graduated from a 2 year, 2200 hour full-time course at The Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy in Vancouver in 2007. The course included over 300 practice sessions in the school clinic. The college is affiliated with the Namikoshi Gakuen College in Tokyo, opened by the founder of Shiatsu, Tokujiro Namikoshi.
Kevin is a certified Access Consciousness® Bars Practitioner. Access Bars is practised and taught in 176 countries around the world. Kevin has also studied Kappo ("active method" bodywork) at the Seido Kai Kappo School in Tokyo under the guidance of Mr.Makoto Usui. Kappo, similar to Seitai ("adjust the body") is a bodywork system that was originally used to help injured warriors regain mobility. It also contains techniques to enhance physical strength and range of motion. Kevin has worked at the Japan Shiatsu Clinic in Vancouver, at the CIALL Youth under 18's Addiction Response Crumlin Program (ARC) in Dublin, and was the owner and operator of Active Method Ireland Shiatsu clinic in Dublin, Ireland, for 4 years before returning to Japan in 2015 to set up Emerald Waves Healing in Tokyo. In addition, Kevin has extensive experience in the field of holistic exercise, including studying Qi Gong (Chinese holistic health exercise) at the Real Taoism studio in London and Taiki Ken (Chinese Qi Gong-based martial and meditative system) at Shisei Juku School in Tokyo. He also has long-term experience in zazen seated meditation, training with the Rev. Jiho Sargeant at Taiso Ji Temple in Tokyo and at the Zen in Ireland Center in Dublin. Kevin is currently involved in ongoing Taiki Ken training at Shisei Juku Dojo and Zazen seated meditation training at Shinzenji Temple in Tokyo's Shitamachi (downtown area). Kevin is also pursuing studies in Morita Therapy (Japanese psychology) with Gregg Krech of the ToDo Institute in the U.S.A. Qualifications :
